The holidays are just around the corner, and what’s that coming around the bend? It’s not Santa’s sleigh, it’s the Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Holiday Lights Tour! There’s no better way to experience the holidays in Chicago than taking a ride on one of our festive trolleys. You’ll witness spectacular light displays and stop off at the city’s most popular holiday destinations. This tour is fun for the whole family and runs through Christmas, so hop on board as we highlight the destinations on this spectacular tour!

Our trolley will pick you up at John Hancock Center’s beautiful Christmas tree, right at the head of the Magnificent Mile. Once on board, the trolley will make three stops so you can explore the magic of the holidays in the Windy City.

Stop #1: Sprinkles Cupcakes – Gold Coast

First stop, Sprinkles on the Gold Coast. We’re not talking about the festive topping, we’re talking about the famously known cupcake shop originating in Beverly Hills. Sprinkles has since expanded its locations all across the country crafting delicious sweets using only the finest ingredients – from sweet cream butter to bittersweet Belgian chocolate, topped with their trademark modern dots. To “sweeten” the deal, tour-goers get a FREE handcrafted holiday cupcake!

Stop #2: Christkindlmarket – Daley Plaza

From Michigan Avenue, our trolley will whisk you down State Street and across the Loop to Chicago’s famous Christkindlmarket in Daley Plaza. You’ll be transported to an old German village, with quaint shops offering handcrafted goods and delicious German eats and drinks such as bratwurst and hot mulled wine! While you’re perusing the market, you’ll enjoy the sounds of traditional German brass music and holiday sing-alongs, fun for the whole family. If you’re lucky, you’ll run into Chicago’s very own Christkind, the traditional giver of gifts at Christmas-time in Germany, dressed in gold and white robes. She’ll be available for meet-and-greet as well as pictures! We know it’s hard to walk away from the market, but we have one more stop on our amazing holiday tour, so hop on board for our third and final stop of the night.

Stop #3: ZooLights – Lincoln Park Zoo

Our final stop of the night is ZooLights at Lincoln Park Zoo, and this year Chicago Trolley is proud to be the Official Trolley and Double Decker of the event! This fun, free holiday celebration transforms Chicago’s favorite zoo into a winter wonderland, with luminous displays and plenty of holiday-themed activities. Explore the many kid-friendly events planned for the evening, including live ice-sculpture carving, musical performances and pictures with Santa! For the adults, warm spiced wine and frosty brews will be available, along with holiday shopping opportunities.

As they say, all good things must come to an end. It’s time to hop back on the trolley, take one more look at the holiday lights and conclude our tour back at the Hancock Center. In just 2 ½ hours, you’ll have experienced the best of Chicago during the holidays – and your family will be sure to leave feeling festive and joyful.

Due to the popularity of this tour, advanced ticket purchases are highly recommended. Private Rentals are also available.
