Let’s face it, planning a wedding takes a lot of time and effort, usually calling for a large glass of vino with your besties to get through it. From photography, to accommodating guests, to who’s sitting where – every stage can be a bit stressful. The last thing you want to be worrying about on your big day is transportation. Renting a trolley for either day-of photos, transportation to the wedding and reception itself, or both can help relieve some of that stress. Let us worry about getting you to and from your destinations, so you can focus on enjoying everyone’s company, taking gorgeous photos, and sipping a beverage. So, how does renting a wedding trolley work? Sit back and relax, we’ve got your most important questions answered!

The Basics

Renting a trolley for your wedding sounds amazing–but where to start? You can request a quote from Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Co. here. Charter quotes are always free. When requesting a quote, you’ll be asked which fleet you would like to rent (trolley, double decker bus or coach bus), the date and time of your rental, and where you’ll be driving (the fleet can be driven in the Chicago city limits, suburbs and surrounding states). You choose the pick-up spot and itinerary, and we’ll do the driving! Trolleys are heated for winter, and windows open for summer.

All of our trolleys are wheelchair accessible, you would just need to let us know at the time of booking! Speaking of which, we recommend booking a few weeks to a month in advance. We take 50% for the deposit, and request the remaining balance two weeks before your reservation date.

The Big Day

We can hear the wedding bells ringing! On the big day, we’ll make sure your transportation runs smoothly. Our special parking and staging privileges from City Hall allows us to coordinate with hotels, attractions, and venues for pickups and drop-offs!

Ready to shine? Many couples choose to take photos in front of The Art Institute of Chicago, Grant Park and along Lake Michigan. Our drivers are responsible and knowledgeable, and stay on the trolley while you and your guests take photos. The trolleys are equipped with a PA system and a cord to hook-up your iPod or phone to play some jams – so start making that wedding playlist!

Decorating the Trolley

While the trolley’s are already classic and elegant, you’re more than welcome to bring your own festive decorations to complete your vision. From hanging your “just married” banner, to adding your own floral touch – we welcome decor of all kind.

Food and Drinks

No one likes being hangry, that’s why we allow you to bring food on the trolley! Many couples choose to load up a cooler to bring on board, that way your munchies and drinks stay cold and your hearts stay warm. The best part? We don’t charge you for a clean-up fee, because the only thing you should be worrying about is have a good time.

Renting a trolley is an elegant way to travel around on the big day, while passing off the stress of driving and navigation to an experienced trolley driver. Newlyweds and guests report having tons of fun on the trolleys, turning a potentially stressful day into an evening to remember.
